Water Testing

Accurate, independent testing of water to Irish and European standards.

BHP Laboratories is the largest independent materials testing laboratory in Ireland providing a wide range of engineering & scientific measuring, testing and analysing services to numerous industries throughout Ireland and the UK. We provide a comprehensive range of testing and analysing solutions for water testing. This includes a combination of site and laboratory sampling, testing, and advising services.

All testing is carried out by experienced technicians in our INAB ISO 17025 accredited laboratory, with results delivered to agreed turnaround times. We also provide on-site sampling and testing, with a fleet of fully equipped vehicles and field operatives covering all of Ireland.

Some of the services provided by our Water Testing service include:

Drinking Water: Samples are tested for chemical and microbiological parameters outlined in the European Union (Drinking Water) Regulations 2014 (S.I. No. 122 of 2014).
Wastewater: Sampling, analysis, and reporting of wastewater including trade discharge, effluents, and outflows. We work with local authorities, hotels, restaurants, & retailers.
Surface Water: Sampling, analysis, and reporting of surface water including river, lake and stream water as well as canals, harbours, and estuaries. In the extractive industry, there is extensive testing of settlement ponds, discharge points, and sumps.
Ground Water: Sampling, analysis, and reporting of ground water often in relation to construction works being carried out on road, solar and wind farm projects and on landfill monitoring. There is also extensive monitoring undertaken in the extractive industry in Ireland.
Process Water: Sampling, analysis, and reporting of process water used in manufacturing industry where water quality is critical to the operation of equipment, machinery, and production processes.

BHP is accredited by the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) to ISO 17025 and is listed as an approved laboratory by the EPA.
